Overview
Juralco’s Edgetec® Infinity Balustrade System is a continuous aluminium channel system fixed to a balcony to hold a continuous toughened glass pane. As the glazing is simply clamped, it allows the use of non-drilled glass, and the adjustment system is easy to fit. Infinity achieves higher level of performance making it compliant up to Extra High and wind pressures up to 2.5kPa. Available with 12 or 15mm glass with top rail, or 13.52 or 17.52mm laminated SentryGlas without top rail.
Juralco's Edge Stecca™ Balustrade System is a powder-coated vertical aluminium slat balustrade system that makes a visual statement with its depth and use of colour. Stecca™ provides the occupants with some privacy and good ventilation. Fixed to top and bottom horizontal rails running between a series of support posts, the Stecca™ system can be had either with a top handrail or without.
Application
The Infinity system provides clean lines so that views are unobstructed. The continuous channel system can be top-mounted or side-mounted, hidden in a variety of coves that can be powder coated to any colour, or it can be hidden away inside the floating deck structure. Use of laminated SentryGlas means that you can choose to have a top rail or not.
The Stecca™ system provides character to the building, colour can be used to make the balustrade a standout feature of the building. Its slat design means that you can only see through it straight on, while from the sides there is some degree of privacy. Fixing of posts is therefore the crucial waterproofing interface between building and deck. A published manual for both systems includes a standard PS1 to demonstrate compliance. This allows designers the choice of staying inside the systems’ basic parameters and, on completion, instantly having a PS1 ready for processing, or customising the design and getting it reviewed by Juralco’s engineers. Both systems have been specific engineered design (SED) tested to meet B1/VM1, B2/AS1, and F4/AS1.
